A Brazilian fan of Taylor Swift died of heat exhaustion, according to a forensic report.

In November, Ana Clara Benevides Machado passed away prior to an Eras Tour performance in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The cause of death has been determined for a Taylor Swift devotee who passed away in November prior to an Eras Tour performance in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Wednesday’s acquisition by the Associated Press of an official forensics report indicates that Ana Clara Benevides Machado passed away from heat exhaustion.

On November 17, while preparing to attend Swift’s concert at Estadio Nilton Santos, the 23-year-old admirer passed away. Event organizer Time for Fun announced on X (formerly Twitter) that she became ill at the Rio venue and was transported to a nearby hospital, where she succumbed, prior to the arrival of first responders. It was there that she passed away.

Swift, 34, reportedly invited the Benevides family to a separate performance after her father passed away. In addition to covering their travel expenditures, Swift donated to her parents, as confirmed by PEOPLE.

The musician of “Bigger Than the Whole Sky” stated in a handwritten message posted to her Instagram Story that the tragedy had “shattered” her heart.

Swift began her social media statement, “I cannot believe I’m writing these words, but it is with a broken heart that I say we lost a fan earlier tonight before my show.”

She continued, “I cannot even express how devastated I am by this.” “The only information I possess is that she was considerably too young and unbelievably beautiful.”

Swift added that due to the “grief” she felt, she would be unable to discuss the demise of the fan during performances.

She penned, “I feel so overcome with grief that I will be incapable of discussing this on stage; the mere thought of doing so would beguilement.” “I want to say now I feel this loss deeply and my heart goes out to her family and friends.”

Swift’s sincere message concluded, “This is the last thing I ever imagined would occur when we decided to bring this tour to Brazil.”

Swift, according to a source close to the singer who previously spoke to PEOPLE, extended an invitation to Benevides Machado’s family and friends, including her father, Weiny, to her last Brazil tour stop in São Paulo on November 26.

The family of the deceased admirer appeared to have viewed the performance from a VIP tent, according to a fan-captured clip that was uploaded to X Show.

The five individuals exhibited coordinating blouses featuring the visage of Benevides Machado both during the concert and when they encountered Swift prior to the event and engaged in a photo opportunity with her. (A number of Swift devotee accounts uploaded the image to X.)
