A woman claims that her brother was one of the two people who were killed in the shooting that took place outside of a beauty supply business in Dallas

The investigation into the homicide of two males that occurred outside of a shopping mall in Dallas is being referred to as a capital murder investigation.

It is impossible for any number of memorials to bring about understanding for the suffering and violence that two families in Dallas are currently experiencing.

In the early hours of Wednesday morning, Staphanie Sharp said that her brother, Morland Smith, who was 51 years old, was one of two men who were killed outside of a shopping mall located in the 9500 block of Scyene Road near Saint Augustine.

Sharp said, “I’m not sure what I’m feeling at this moment.” It’s a mixture of fury, sadness, and disbelief, she said.

According to investigators with the Dallas Police Department, officers responded to a gunshot on Wednesday morning just after nine o’clock and located Smith and Jamarcus Irving, who is 22 years old. Both were shot, and neither of them managed to survive.

The presence of yellow evidence markers revealed that hundreds of shots were fired externally to the beauty supply shop, resulting in multiple windows being shot out. The investigators have not disclosed if one of the victims was the target of the suspect or suspects.

According to Jacqueline Edwards, Smith, her lifelong companion, had just gotten up and gone to the adjacent location to have some breakfast.
Smith said, “He called me right before it happened,” and he was right. “I was asked if I would like a donut,” he said.

Smith is described as a kind brother and uncle who had a caring heart and a good soul, and Edwards states that she could not see why anyone would wish to cause physical harm to Smith.

The statement that Edwards made was, “I just have a feeling in my heart that they are not going to get away with this.”

A reward of $5,000 has been established by the DPD for any information that leads to the identification of the suspect. Sharp is holding out hope that any offer of reward may help lead to an arrest.

The statement was made by Sharp, who stated, “If anyone knows anything about these people, don’t hold anything back.” “I beg you, it could be a member of your family, or it could be someone you know,” she said.
