Balloon release for the 17-year-old new mother who was killed in the shooting at Ikea Hood has been made

The passing of a junior at Lancaster High School, who was shot and killed this week, is being remembered by his family and friends.

Just three weeks ago, Ikea Hood had just given birth to her child. A charge of murder has been brought against her occasional boyfriend.

On Wednesday, following a brief moment of grief, dozens of balloons were released outside of Lancaster High School, which Hood attended while he was a junior there.

One of Hood’s mothers is Taquoya Lester.

Wow, this is incredible. The other person just informed me that she had an effect on everyone,” she commented. The mere mention of her name. Because you mention Ikea, this is exactly what it is.

On Sunday morning, Lester discovered her daughter in a bedroom on Gramblng Drive in Southeast Oak Cliff, suffering from a gunshot wound. The bedroom was located in the same building.

Trevon Wright, who is 17 years old and is suspected of killing Hood, was taken into custody by United States Marshals and placed into the Dallas County jail on Tuesday, according to the Dallas police department.

“I know that her spirit is still here with us with all these people being here,” according to Lester.

“The suspect and Hood had been in a ‘on-again-off-again’ dating relationship for the past two years,” the affidavit that was attached to Wright’s arrest warrant stated.

According to the records, Hood recently discovered that Wright was not the father of her newborn daughter, and that she intended to confess to Wright on the day that she was murdered.

According to the affidavit, Lester reported to the authorities that she had heard a loud boom in the room as Wright and Hood were present. In addition, when she went to check on them, she discovered that her daughter had been shot, and Wright had disappeared.

At the launching of the balloon, friends, family, and loved ones shared memories of Hood, who had been a member of the Tigerettes Dance Team. In addition to that, they gave the family stuff for the baby.

“We will be eternally grateful to you for this. We are aware that this would significantly impact Ikea. According to Jalaya Williams, Hood’s sister, “It is a significant gesture for us, and it demonstrates that she was truly loved.” “It lets us know that what happened to her, people understand it’s not correct, and they want to stand behind us.”
