Bryan Tanaka, the ex-boyfriend of Mariah Carey, discusses the couple’s seven-year separation

Bryan Tanaka is discussing his separation from Mariah Carey.

The backup dancer, age 40, issued an extensive statement on social media on Tuesday (December 26) regarding the couple’s separation, describing it as a “mutual” decision.

Tanaka begins the Instagram message, “Dear friends and fans, I share this personal update regarding my amicable separation from Mariah Carey after seven extraordinary years together.” The post is accompanied by a range of emotions. “Our mutual decision to pursue separate trajectories is accompanied by deep respect and an overflowing sense of appreciation for the invaluable time we have spent together along the way.” The enduring impact of our artistic collaborations and the cherished memories we’ve created is immeasurable.”

Carey, 54, and Tanaka began collaborating in 2006, when Tanaka joined the legendary singer-songwriter on tour for the Adventures of Mimi tour. In February 2017, she verified the relationship in an interview with the Associated Press, where she referred to him as her “boyfriend.” Additionally, Carey’s E! reality series Mariah’s World documented their affair. Following Carey’s breakup with her ex-boyfriend, Australian businessman James Packer, the two began dating.

People reports that after Tanaka’s absence from the “All I Want For Christmas Is You” singer’s Merry Christmas One and All! tour in mid-November, rumors regarding the couple’s separation began to circulate. Additionally, the publication reported that he was not in Aspen, Colorado, to celebrate the holidays with Carey, as he customarily does.

As of press time, Carey had not issued a statement of her own.

Tanaka further stated, “Mariah’s devotion to her family and her zeal for her profession have served as an inspiration to us throughout this endeavor.” “I am overwhelmed with gratitude and affection for Mariah and her marvelous children, whose benevolence and benevolence have added immeasurable value to my existence.”

With her ex-husband, Nick Cannon, Carey has twins named Moroccan and Monroe, both of whom are 12 years old.

Tanaka further stated, “I respectfully request your understanding, privacy, and respect during this delicate period. Fan support and encouragement have been a beacon of light, and for that I am profoundly appreciative. Your continued support and encouragement has served to elevate my spirits. “I eagerly anticipate the continuation of this journey, certain that the unfolding chapters will reflect my deep passion for inspiration, dance, and the creative arts.”
