For King Charles’s upcoming celebrations, Coronation Chicken has undergone a makeover

The coronation of King Charles III is quickly approaching, and while the Royal Family is preoccupied planning the logistics of the highly anticipated ceremony, we’re preoccupied with deciding the coronation-themed food we’ll be cooking for our neighborhood street parties.

The now-famous meal of “coronation chicken,” created especially for Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation in 1953, was served at the official luncheon, and the recipe was afterwards reproduced in supermarket sandwiches across the nation. In fact, it continues to be a favorite for a noon snack. So the country has been waiting to see if tradition will hold true and we’ll be getting a food treat this year with a Charles theme.

Additionally, businesses are already embracing the royal theme; however, it’s not just Victoria sponge cakes or scones are beginning to appear, but there are also unique biscuits and sausages.

The King’s Coronation details are gradually becoming public. We already know that George, Charlotte, and Louis, his grandchildren, will play prominent roles in the ceremony, but we haven’t yet learned whether Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be there.

The family are not believed to have gotten together, despite Harry traveling unexpectedly to London to attend the court case against Associated Newspapers on March 27—just weeks before his father’s coronation. Apart from the news of the guest list, the nation has already received an additional bank holiday in honor of the event. We are just waiting to find out what other limited-edition food launches will be happening at the same time.
