In connection with the deadly shooting of his brother, Walter Hendrick is being held on a bond of $250,000.

After appearing in court on fresh charges on Thursday, a 22-year-old man from Boston who is accused of shooting his 12-year-old brother to death in July was ordered held on a cash bail of $250,000, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, which verified the information to MassLive.

After being arrested on fresh charges in connection with the shooting murder of Savion Ellis on July 13, Walter Hendrick, who resides in Roxbury, made his initial court appearance on September 21 in Suffolk Superior Court.
According to the Boston Police Department, Hendrick was taken into custody on Wednesday and charged with manslaughter, unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition, possession of a large capacity feeding device, and witness intimidation.

According to prior statements made by the Boston Police Department, Hendrick had previously been charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, improper storage of a handgun (someone under the age of 18 having possible access), and unlawful possession of ammunition.

According to 7News, the prosecution stated during Hendrick’s arraignment on Thursday that the gun that was used to kill Ellis belonged to Hendrick and that his fingerprints were discovered on the trigger of the revolver. On the other hand, the defence contended that the gunshot was an unfortunate accident.

The boy was taken to the hospital, where it was said that attempts to revive him were fruitless, and he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving there. According to the authorities, the boy’s name is Ellis, and he was later identified.
According to NBC10 Boston’s report, the court confirmed that Hendrick is indeed Savion’s older brother. The Mayor of the city, Michelle Wu, has offered her condolences and described the circumstance a “nightmare for a mum” as well as for a family.

According to the office of the district attorney, Hendrick entered a plea of not guilty to the newly filed accusations and is scheduled to appear in court again on October 24. Meanwhile, the shooting is still being looked into by authorities.
