The HBO series Euphoria, which follows a group of young people struggling with adolescence and drug and sex experimentation, has utterly captivated Gen Z and established itself as a standard for both fashion and beauty. The show’s ensembles, which have impacted not only fast fashion but also the runways of Milan and Paris, were created by costume designer Heidi Bivenst.
The show, which also stars up-and-coming actors like Hunter Schafer, Maude Apatow, and Angus Cloud, is not your typical high school drama and at times can be difficult to watch due to its honest portrayal of adolescent life. It stars Zendaya as recovering drug addict Rue, Sydney Sweeney as bombshell Cassie, Jacob Elordi as jock Nate, and a host of other stars, including Zendaya, who plays Rue.
Bivens, who has worked with top brands such as Chanel and on films including David Lynch’s Inland Empire and Harmony Korine’s Spring Breakers, has released an illustrated book, Euphoria Fashion, dissecting some of the most memorable outfits from the two seasons of the show, which has been renewed for a third season.
