Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s relationship is still the focus of her “This Is Me… Now” film, despite the fact that he has ‘PTSD’ from their first romance

Jennifer Lopez acknowledges that her camp did not unanimously support her plan to chronicle her marriage to Ben Affleck in the forthcoming “This Is Me… Now” album and companion film.

“As artists, we must follow our hearts, and in this case, I had to do something that perhaps not everyone thought was the best idea, but it was something I had to do,” Lopez explains.

Lopez is scheduled to release “This Is Me… Now” on February 16, an album that commemorates the twentieth anniversary of “This Is Me… Then.” The complementary short film, which is directed by Dave Meyers, will be released concurrently by Amazon MGM Studios.

Lopez acknowledged her concerns regarding the public scrutiny of her and Affleck’s lives, stating, “We both have PTSD” as a result of the media scrutiny they endured during their initial relationship. However, she added, “We’re both older now.” We have gained wisdom. Furthermore, we are cognizant of what is truly essential in life and not merely what others believe. “Being genuine in one’s self-identity is everything.”

When asked whether the film is a documentary or a scripted feature, Lopez responded, “You must experience it in order to comprehend it. Hence, I refer to it as a “musical experience.” It is possible to perceive and experience music through sight and sound, thereby granting the opportunity to live it.

Lopez was quoted in a recent film teaser as saying, “When someone asked me as a young girl what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would always say… in love.”

Lopez expressed her desire to reunite with Affleck at the premiere of her romantic comedy “Shotgun Wedding,” which occurred nearly a year ago. They shared the unfavorable co-starring roles in the 2003 film “Gigli,” which was a commercial and critical failure. At the time, Lopez stated, “We converse.” “Such is the way it is; we enjoy being and working together, so anything is possible.”

Affleck and Lopez began dating in the early 2000s. Bennifer, as they were colloquially known, ceased to exist shortly after their wedding was canceled in 2003. Following a rekindled relationship in 2021, the couple wed in Las Vegas in 2022.

Lopez and Affleck made their most recent red carpet appearance in Hollywood on December 5, at the Elle Women in Hollywood honor reception, where she was honored.
