The Nothing Ear 2 was introduced on Wednesday by Nothing, the UK-based company co-founded by OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei. Compared to the Ear 1 from the previous year, these truly wireless stereo (TWS) earbuds provide a number of improvements, including active noise cancellation (ANC) of up to 40dB, Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, and compatibility for the new LHDC 5.0 codec. The transparent earphones have an IP54 rating for water and sweat resistance. These will be for sale in India beginning on March 28.
While they will cost $149 in the US and EUR 129 in European regions, the freshly released Nothing Ear 2 earphones are priced at Rs. 9,999 in India. From March 28 at 12:00 IST, Indian customers can buy them on Flipkart, Myntra, and at a number of offline retail locations. It’s important to remember that the Nothing Ear 1 predecessor had a Rs. 5,999 price tag when it was introduced in July 2021.
The Nothing Ear 2 earphones are similar to their predecessor in that they have a transparent dual-chamber design and come with the same 11.6mm bespoke drivers. Moreover, each earphone has three AI-powered microphones. A better listening experience is provided by the in-ear headphones’ active noise cancellation (ANC), which can filter out ambient and background noises up to 40dB.
The audio device comes with Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity and support for the new LHDC 5.0 codec, as well as the AAC and SBC Bluetooth codecs. The earpieces are rated IP54 for dust and water resistance, while the case is IP55 rated for durability against water and dust.
The Nothing Ear 2 earphones can be paired with Android and iOS devices using the Nothing X app. They come with touch-sensitive controls on the stem, which can be used to adjust the volume, control playback, and switch between noise cancellation modes. These touch gestures are customizable through the paired app.
