Maiwenn Le Besco, the new director of a Johnny Depp movie, gets charged with assaulting a journalist

Maiwenn Le Besco, the director of Johnny Depp’s newest movie Jeanne du Barry, has lately been accused of assault by a journalist who was in a restaurant just a few weeks before the Cannes Film Festival, where it would receive its world premiere.

According to Edwy Plenel, the editor of Medipart Magazine is suing Le Besco for an attack that allegedly happened in the seventh arrondissement of Paris in February. According to the police report, which was filed on March 7th, the director grabbed the editor’s hair and spit on his face without saying a word.
Le Figaro covered the story. Given how quickly the incident occurred, “the woman then hurriedly departed the restaurant without anyone being able to interfere.” By naming the director, the restaurant employees verified the account.

After his widely publicized defamation lawsuit victory against Amber Heard, in which he prevailed and the judge ordered her to pay $15 million in damages, Johnny Depp is making his big-screen comeback with the film.

According to Depp’s attorneys Benjamin Chew and Camille Vazquez, the actor simply wants this difficult time in his life to be done and would give money to charity.
