Mara and James head to the beach for a final pre-birth trip, hoping to create a memorable experience. Maria is happy to be at the beach, and they spend the day sharing their hopes and dreams for their future child.
However, their peaceful day takes a dramatic turn when James develops a Polaroid photo of Maria and notices a dark figure in the background. Both Maria and James are shocked and confused by the image, and their mood quickly changes from relaxation to fear.
They realize they can’t see the source of the figure in the photo and can’t contact anyone for help since they have no phone signal. Believing they are responsible for helping the creature in the water, they cautiously approach it and discover it is a great white shark.
Unable to help the shark on their own due to Maria’s pregnancy, they spot an old man approaching with a metal detector and enlist his help. Together, they manage to free the shark from the fishing nets, saving its life.
James and Maria help save a shark from fishing nets on the beach. The shark, initially weak, recovers and swims away. However, while attempting to return to the shore, Maria goes into labor, and they realize they are stranded with no hospital nearby or cell phone signal.
The elderly man, Francis, who helped them with the shark, remains calm and ensures they reach the hospital in time for Maria’s delivery. After the birth of their son, James and Maria search for Francis to express their gratitude but are unable to find him. Seven days later, they receive a letter from Francis, thanking them for their kindness and leaving a gift for their child. The couple cherishes the memories of this pivotal day at the beach and the impact the strangers had on their child’s birth.
