Man Used 87-Year-Old Woman as ‘Mop’ to Clean up Dog Urine

On January 5, 2023, Escambia County (FL) police arrested Leonard Ervin Wayne Tucker, 56, on a charge of elderly abuse after video evidence showed him using an elderly 87-year-old woman as a “mop” during an incident on November 22, 2022.

Tucker returned home from the grocery store angry with the woman. He initially began yelling at the woman and then slapped her in the face. Tucker then grabbed a handful of paper towels to clean dog urine on the floor. Suddenly, Tucker grabbed the woman by the arm and threw her to the floor.

Tucker then dragged the woman across the floor by her ankles for several minutes before finally releasing her and walking away.

According to the police report, Tucker, a family friend since the 1990s, had lived with the 87-year-old as her caretaker since 2018.

Tucker’s family removed her from the home and notified police. She suffered bruising to her buttocks and arms.

The woman’s family stated they did not know of any other incidents between Tucker and the elderly woman.

Tucker had previously spent 11 years in prison on a manslaughter charge out of Santa Rosa County stemming from 2005. Tucker allegedly set fire to a home in 2004, killing one person inside.

The outcome of this case is unclear.
