In addition to Din Djarin (also known as The Mandalorian), Grogu, C3PO, R2D2, Darth Vader, and other contemporary and enduring figures from the sci-fi franchise, the well-known Hollywood footwear brand’s new Star Wars capsule collection ($48 to $65) debuted shortly after the third season premiere of The Mandalorian.
Native’s famous Jefferson and Robbie slip-on styles, worn by Jessica Biel, Olivia Wilde, Mila Kunis, and Busy Philipps, are available in both adult and child sizes in this collaboration (and their stylish kiddos).
The shoes are made of odor-resistant EVA foam that is lightweight and Native’s exclusive Sugarlite mixture of EVA and resin generated from sugarcane. The Vancouver-based company claims its shoes are “one of the lowest carbon impact shoes in the market” with a carbon footprint of 3.85 kilos each pair, compared to the industry average of 10 to 20 kilograms per pair.
The company announced a target to cut its overall greenhouse gas emissions by 42% by 2030 (starting in 2020).Native will release more Star Wars styles through spring timed for Return of the Jedi‘s 40th anniversary and the upcoming May the 4th holiday. The company also expanded Disney’s footwear universe with new Mickey and Minnie Mouse designs.
