On the evening of Christmas Eve, a patient with stage 4 cancer marries her husband in the chapel of Dallas hospital

A woman from Dallas was able to realize her lifelong ambition of getting married on Christmas Eve, despite the fact that she had to overcome some unforeseen obstacles.

Letitia Cox, who was 48 years old at the time, had a dream come true on Christmas Eve: she married the man of her dreams in front of her family and friends. Ever since she was a young kid, Cox has had the constant desire to get married on Christmas Eve. On the other hand, she was not anticipating a ceremony like as today’s.

“This is the happiest day of my life,” Cox said in an interview with NBC 5. “I couldn’t ask for a happier day.”

Ovarian cancer has progressed to stage 4 in Cox. For the past five months, she has been receiving treatment at Medical City Dallas Hospital, and her then-fiancé Jerry has been extremely supportive of her during the entire process.

It was at the chapel of Medical City Hospital that she tied the knot with her husband.

Jerry Cox, the woman’s spouse, was quoted as saying, “It defines how much we love each other, how much he’s willing to be there for me,” in reference to marriage. “Because I’ve been in the hospital literally since July 27.”

“He’s been sleeping on the sofas in there and the chairs, eating hospital food, just so he could be by my side,” explained Leticia. “So it means everything.”

Letitia and Jerry intended this to be their big Christmas Eve celebration, despite the fact that they were temporarily confined to the hospital. Through the opening of their hospital chapel for the event, Medical City was able to make it happen.

A wheelchair was used to transport Letitia into the chapel where the ceremony was taking place. While the bride and groom were reading their vows to one another, they both felt emotional, which resulted in smiles and tears of joy being shed during the ceremony.

The time had finally come, and it was now.

“Jerry Cox and Letitia Johnson are now Mr. and Mrs. Cox,” the officiant said to the family and friends who were cheering as they entered the room.

When he thought back on the ceremony, the groom expressed his gratitude that they were able to achieve their goal.

“When you know who the love of your life is, don’t let time slip by,” advised the comedian Jerry Cox. “Because time is only for now.”

The fight that Letitia is engaged in will continue on Christmas Day. The memories of the wedding that took place on Christmas Eve, which she will never forget, will also be with her forever.

“And I’m so blessed today that I’m Mrs. Cox,” Cox said in an interview with NBC News.
