The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has released footage of the apprehension of a suspect in connection with the 1996 murder of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Tupac Shakur.
The footage, which was shared by local network KLAS-TV and Law & Crime Network, depicts Duane “Keffe D” Davis being approached by authorities near his Las Vegas residence on September 29, at which time he was promptly handcuffed and complied with police.
Davis, who has since reportedly been charged with one count of murder with a gang enhancement, is placed in the police vehicle and given water after approximately two minutes. In subsequent footage, an officer asks Davis why he was “got” by police. He replied, “the biggest case in Las Vegas’s history.”
During small talk with the officer in the front seat, Davis explained that he wasn’t “worried” about the detention and “ain’t did s—.”
The officer responded, “Well, that’s what the court’s for, right?”
Davis inquired elsewhere in the footage as to why the media was not present during his arrest. “So why didn’t you bring the media?” he queried, as reported by KHLAS-TV. Davis appears to be referring to the 17th of July, when authorities executed a search warrant on a residence associated with him.
