A 20-year-old boy was killed by a tiger after apparently falling into the animal’s enclosure.
According to eyewitnesses, the young man fell into a 5.5-meter ditch within the tiger’s habitat. Moments later, the adult tiger was seen dragging him away by the neck. A crowd quickly gathered around the tiger’s cage, but instead of helping, many pulled out their smartphones and started recording the horrific scene as the tiger attacked.
One witness, Himanshu, described running to the enclosure after hearing screams, only to find the man already in the tiger’s jaws, writhing in pain. “Nobody helped him,” Himanshu lamented. A disturbing image taken by a witness showed the young man curled up in front of the tiger, his hands folded in a gesture of pleading.
Reports indicate that the young man suffered for nearly 15 minutes before succumbing to his injuries. Security guards at the zoo were reportedly unable to intervene effectively, as they lacked tranquilizer guns and wireless devices to call for backup. However, zoo authorities have denied these allegations.
This incident has raised serious concerns about the safety measures in place at the zoo and the response protocols for such emergencies. The tragic loss of a young life has sparked a debate on how such incidents can be prevented in the future and the responsibilities of both zoo authorities and visitors in ensuring safety and swift action during emergencies.
