Video shows Oklahoma grandmother, 65, kicking police officer in groin and getting tasered after being pulled over for broken taillight

A routine traffic stop in Oklahoma last week saw a 65-year-old grandmother allegedly kick a police officer in the groin after she was pulled over for having a broken taillight. The woman was then tased before being taken to jail over an $80 ticket.

The wild altercation involved Debra Hamil, 65, whose behavior was captured on the responding officer’s body camera. The video was obtained by KOCO and starts with the officer asking Hamil to sign the ticket because of her broken taillight.

However, the woman gets into a heated argument with the cop instead. She could be heard asking the cop, “So you don’t even give a warning for that?”

The officer responds to her saying that she had been driving with the broken taillight for the last six months which leads to Hamil protesting.

Broken taillight! Did the officer handle this situation appropriately? 65yr old Debra Hamil was charged w/felony count of assaulting an officer & misdemeanor count of resisting arrest. The woman then tells the officer that she will not sign the ticket and explains, “I don’t think that I deserve to pay $80 for something that is fixable and I can fix it.”

The officer was not amused by her response and tells her that she is under arrest.

However, Hamil calmly tells the officer that she was not under arrest before locking her door and rolling up the window.

The officer proceeds to tell Hamil quite a few more times to step out of the vehicle but she does not. She then yells at the cop through her window and says, “You are full of s*** because you are placing me under no f***ing arrest.”

The officer warns her not to drive away when she reluctantly agrees to sign the ticket.

The officer tells the grandma that they were way past that and demands that she step out of the vehicle.

Hamil then attempts to drive off and leads the officer on a small chase.

A little while later, Hamil pulled into a parking lot where the cop caught up with her and confronted her.

The officer then yanked the woman out of her vehicle and struggled with getting her hands behind her back.

Hamil then rolled over and reportedly kicked the officer in his groin which resulted in Hamil getting tasered.

“Do you realize you just got yourself in a whole lot more trouble?” the officer asked the woman.

Hamil was charged with felony assaulting a police officer and misdemeanor resisting arrest.

She had refused an ambulance but the officials took her to an emergency room to be checked anyways.
