What Prince Harry Thinks Will Happen to Us When We Die

If you believe that being real royalty exempts you from requesting signatures from famous people, you’re mistaken. On March 1, a fresh clip from Prince Harry’s January appearance on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” was made available. Harry participated in the “Colbert Questionert,” answering a string of 15 personal queries (that were somehow not covered in his bestselling memoir “Spare” or his Netflix documentary, “Harry & Meghan”).

In a humorous yet telling exchange, Colbert inquired as to whether Harry had ever requested an autograph from someone else. The king said yes without any hesitation and even told the amusing story. His biggest fangirl moment was watching the England rugby team play in the 2003 World Cup final at Telstra Stadium.

“I was yelling, “Johnny, Johnny!” after a few drinks while wandering around in an England rugby top. Oh, Mike! Lawrence! Please autograph my shirt. They are all standing there in the open with their willies protruding. Nonetheless, I managed to collect all 15 signatures. I was ecstatic about that.”

The majority of the interview’s questions were lighthearted and simple, such “What is the best sandwich?” A “cheese and ham toasty with dijon mustard,” is the response. Also, “Favorite smell?” Respondent: “My wife.” (Obviously.)But Colbert also got Harry to dig deep at moments. When asked what he thinks happens when we die, Harry said he believes we could be reincarnated as animals. He would particularly love to be reincarnated as an elephant. The answer calls back to a revelation in “Spare,” in which Harry said he believed an encounter with a leopard in Botswana was a sign from his late mother, Princess Diana. To conclude the game, Harry ended the Colbert interview by describing the rest of his life in five words, poignantly sharing, “Freedom. Happiness. Clarity. Space. Love.”
