Harry & Megan, a six-part Netflix documentary series starring Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, is already available to download on Netflix. Royal critics will undoubtedly be breaking down what they discussed in the ensuing weeks and months.
When Prince Harry learns that Prince William’s office has signed his name to a statement that he has never seen, Prince Harry and Meghan declare that this is what made them decide to leave their positions as senior members of the royal family.
Prince Harry remarked, referring to a statement released in January 2020 that was published on behalf of both, “I was told of a joint statement produced in mine and my brother’s name smashing the story that he bullied us out of the family.
“I couldn’t believe it, nobody had asked me,” the Duke of Sussex continued. Nobody has requested my consent before using my name to make such a claim. And when I told M over the phone, she sobbed uncontrollably. Because they were willing to tell lies for my brother’s protection within four hours, but for the next three years, they were never willing to reveal the truth to protect us.
Then Meghan joins in, saying, “All of a sudden, I realized: This is never going to stop. Every unfavorable rumor, every untruth, every lie—everything I knew to be untrue, the palace also knew it to be untrue, and they simply allowed it to flourish
“So there was no other option at that point,” Harry concludes. “I said, ‘We have to get out of here.’”
At the beginning of the episode, they reveal that the “catalyst” for all the “unraveling” and their royal exit began with their lawsuit against the post on Sunday regarding the release of Meghan’s letter to her estranged father.
