When this couple with two children ordered only one kids meal, the waitress knew something was wrong

A waitress named Flavene Carvalho at Mrs. Potato restaurant in Orlando, Florida, saved an 11-year-old boy from alleged torture by noticing something was amiss when the family ordered only one kids’ meal despite having two children.

The waitress observed bruises on the boy and, suspecting abuse, discreetly communicated with him using a cardboard sign. The boy signaled that he needed help, and the police were called. Upon questioning, the boy revealed that he was forbidden from eating or drinking water and had been subjected to physical abuse, including being hung upside down and beaten with various objects. The boy was 20 pounds underweight and his mother, Kristen Swann, and stepfather, Timothy Wilson II, were arrested on child neglect and abuse charges. The quick thinking and courage of the waitress prevented a potentially deadly situation.
