Saturday night, in a 20-19 victory over the Detroit Lions, Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb established two franchise records with an outstanding performance.
Lamb recorded 13 receptions for 227 yards and assisted Dallas in opening the scoring in the first quarter by catching a touchdown pass from Dak Prescott for 92 yards.
As of the current schedule, Lamb has accumulated 122 receptions for 1,651 yards and 10 touchdowns thus far this season. He surpassed Michael Irvin as the season leader in receiving yards and receptions. In 1995, Irvin accumulated 111 passes for 1,603 yards.
Then, he announced via Instagram Stories that he had been selected at random for a drug test.
Prescott described Lamb as “remarkable,” according to the team’s website. “That is CeeDee Lamb in person.” Tonight, what a fantastic opportunity for him to have the game that he had, knowing that records were on the line in this contest. I was unaware of them until you people informed me, but I assured you he would succeed.
“The yards, yards after catch, getting open after the 2.3 [seconds], beating man coverage, getting into the right spots in zones, he can do it all.”
It was, according to Prescott, “merely the beginning.”
