Craig Smith and Jani Hakanpaa scored in the dying 13 seconds on Saturday to lift the Dallas Stars past the Nashville Predators, 3-2.
In addition to Evgeni Dadonov’s third-period goal, Dallas advanced to 5-0-1 over its previous six contests. Scott Wedgewood recorded nineteen saves.
In the second period, Michael McCarron and Colton Sissons both scored for Nashville. Saros Juuse recorded 31 stops.
The Predators’ record in their previous eleven contests was 8-3.
With 13 seconds remaining and Dallas trailing 2-1 and Wedgewood being substituted for an additional attacker, Smith scored his third of the season in a goalmouth scramble.

Hakanpaa scored the deciding goal, averaging four seconds off the clock. His first of the season it was.
After 23 seconds, McCarron gave Nashville the lead in the second period.
Ryan McDonagh’s initial attempt was blocked by Wedgewood, but McCarron, one of several bodies situated just outside the crease, was able to convert the rebound into his fifth goal of the season.
Sissons scored a power-play goal at 6:33 by shooting past Wedgewood on the stick side after collecting the ricochet of his initial attempt in the low slot.
Dadonov initiated Dallas’ recovery at 8:22 into the third period by outshooting Saros from the lower right circle.
