The controversial referee call that resulted in the loss of a game for the Detroit Lions to the Dallas Cowboys was discussed on Sunday on X, which was formerly known as Twitter. Dan Gilbert, the founder and chairman of Rocket Companies and the owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers, offered his opinion on the matter.
On Saturday night, Jared Goff threw a pass to left tackle Taylor Decker, which put the Lions ahead of Dallas by a score of 21-20 with seconds remaining. This play is at the center of the debate. This was followed by a flag that declared Decker ineligible due to the fact that he had not properly reported himself as eligible. The Lions were defeated 18-19.
There is a consensus among Decker, Coach Dan Campbell, and other Lions that Decker did, in fact, inform the referee. According to them, there is video evidence that Decker did that.
The National Football League is now looking into the incident.
