Some well-known tales—including Romeo and Juliet, Laila-Majnu, Heer-Ranjha, Sohni-Mahiwal, and Mirza-Sahiba—depict the divine power of love and how it has rendered it everlasting. They designated spiritual love as ishq haqiqi and worldly love as ishq majazi. According to the Sufis, ishq haqiqi is divine or pure love, which is also God’s love.
