Although Mark Cuban, the owner of the Dallas Mavericks, is divesting his majority stake in the organization, he reaffirmed his conviction that he will maintain a significant influence over the team in the future.
A portion of Cuban’s Mavericks stake is being acquired by the Adelson and Dumont families, contingent upon league approval.
Upon the initial disclosure of the agreement, Cuban was purported to retain authority over basketball operations.
The Mavericks owner stated in a Tuesday interview with 96.7/1310 The Ticket that basketball is “in his blood” and that the agreement is viable in part because he is able to maintain the team.
“Patrick [Dumont] and the Adelsons do not identify as basketball enthusiasts, nor do they aspire to do so. Cuban explained in an interview with Norm Hitzges, “That is the reason why this partnership is so successful.” “They desire to pursue their areas of expertise. “I want them to pursue their areas of expertise.”
Cuban affirms that the arrangement will function while attempting to assist the team in claiming yet another championship.
“I desire to acquire an additional ring and trophy.” It breaks my heart when people show me photographs of myself holding the trophy while looking like I’m 12 years old. He stated, “Because it has been quite some time.”
