The Women’s Cancer Research Fund has established Sharon Stone as the evening’s main honoree and secured rockers Maroon 5 to perform as part of the preparations for its glitzy gala, An Unforgettable Evening. On March 16, the event will take place at the Four Seasons Beverly Wilshire in Beverly Hills.
Stone, who has previously attended the event as a guest, will be honored with a Courage Award for her commitment to funding breast cancer research and promoting awareness of the disease. Dr. Stacie J. Stephenson and international merchant banker Richard J. Stephenson will join her on the honoring program and receive the Unsung Hero Award “for their unrelenting commitment to fighting cancer and promoting patient-centered treatment and care,” according to the organization.
The show’s finale will feature a performance by Maroon 5 before it ends for the night. According to the foundation, the band is “donating their time” to the cause, which is an uncommon and admirable action on the charity gala circuit. The performance takes place before Maroon 5’s residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM, which begins March 24. Coldplay, the Jonas Brothers, Jason Derulo, and more artists have performed before on An Unforgettable Evening.“We are thrilled to be back in person with An Unforgettable Evening,” offered Jamie Tisch. “This is a cause near and dear to our hearts that raises critical funds for life-saving research. It is always such a special evening, and we look forward to celebrating this year’s incredible honorees Sharon Stone, Dr. Stacie J. Stephenson, and Richard J Stephenson.”
