Wes Anderson is a director known for his bright, quirky comedies with a constant cast of his A-list actor friends, including Bill Murray (who appeared in “The Royal Tenenbaums,” “Rushmore,” “The Grand Budapest Hotel,” and more), Tilda Swinton, and Edward Norton (who both appeared in “Moonrise Kingdom”), as well as his upcoming film, “Astroid City.”
There aren’t many details on “Astroid City,” but we do know it’s a period comedy set in a 1950s desert community that was shaken by an unnatural incident. Although Murray, possibly Anderson’s most famous collaborator, will apparently not appear in the movie for an unfortunate reason, the picture still seems intriguing. See the entire movie, including the actors and plot, as well as the poster.
The official synopsis of the film states that “Asteroid City” is set in a fictitious American desert town in the year 1955, where “the schedule of a Junior Stargazer/Space Cadet convention (planned to bring together students and parents from all over the country for fellowship and scholarly competition) is spectacularly disrupted by world-changing events”
It’s not surprising that “Astroid City,” like the majority of Anderson’s films, features an impressive cast of A-list actors. Yet, this list of celebrities is really astounding. Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, Jeffrey Wright, Tilda Swinton, Bryan Cranston, Edward Norton, Adrien Brody, Liev Schreiber, Hope Davis, Stephen Park, Rupert Friend, Maya Hawke, Steve Carell, Matt Dillon, Hong Chau, Willem Dafoe, Margot Robbie, Tony Revolori, Jake Ryan, and Jeff Goldblum are among the actors in the cast.
